What If The U.S. Falls?
Many think this is impossible, but it is not.

What will happen to the world if the US falls?
We Americans certainly think highly of ourselves. But, we also often set very high standards for ourselves too. Amazingly, many in the world also think highly of Americans.
However, it is also true that we, American individuals, most certainly fall short of the ideals for which we strive. America as a nation also falls short of these lofty standards. Nevertheless the United States for all its flaws and shortcomings is a beacon of freedom, justice, and democracy to the world. This is the standard from which liberty is measured.
As long as the United States serves as a beacon of hope, the future can be viewed with some semblance of optimism.
But what if the United States falls, or descends into the level of corruption, oppression, and human rights abuse of China or Russia? How likely will that future be positive?
For all our failings and shortcomings, individually and the United States as a nation, we still serve as an example of what could be and inspire hope for the world and for the future. Without that light to guide the way, the future may be quite dark indeed.
Imagine two or three oppressive ‘super-power’ regimes in the world, and no check on that aggressive domination. How hopeful would that world be? What sort of future would those inhabitants see? Do you think a future as bright and positive as Star Trek could happen? Or, more likely a dark dystopian future similar to 1984?
I know which I would guess to be more likely. Help me work towards the middle instead of the intolerant extremes to do what we can to avoid a more and more likely dark future.
If you believe America’s future matters, not just for us, but for the world, then don’t fuel the extremes. Speak up, act, and push for the middle. Because the future isn’t written yet. And the light only goes out if we let it.
