There Are No Easy Solutions Left.
Contrary to what many seem to believe.

Do you ever wonder why everything always seems to be a shit show? Wouldn’t it be nice if everything just worked out well? Hmmm, we can dream, right?
In that little place so difficult to find where so few of us seem to live, you’ll find what some call reality. Have you ever wondered why everything, every subject, category, social, political, or cultural position seems to be contentious? Well, that’s because it is.
Most people love simple, and most people really love simple solutions. The problem? We don’t live in a simple world anymore, maybe we never did.
Politicians, local leaders, talking heads, religious leaders, Joe from next door; they all want to turn complex problems into simple black-and-white children’s book scenarios. Simple is great, I love simple. Again, what’s the problems with that? Well, nothing, except very little is simple anymore.
Here’s the why. It’s difficult enough for two people to get along long-term. Try a few hundred million or several billion. That, is a simple answer to a complex problem. Of course that answer doesn’t really help us much.
In large groups people are a pain in the butt, unfortunately we tend to live in large groups. There is no easy solution to this problem, but there are a few things we can do to help. First, stop being an obnoxious, bigoted, hateful, short-sighted, narrow-minded person. That one right there covers a lot of people and a little work there would likely move the helpfulness meter noticeably. Next, just try to help, or at the very least, don’t be the problem. Again, that one could probably move the meter quite a bit. Lastly, understand that life is difficult, everyone is struggling, and a little understanding and cooperation would go a really long way in reducing the risk of society crashing into the ground at a thousand miles an hour.
We hopefully still have a long road of progress ahead of us, fingers crossed. Let’s try to make it a bright and positive trip down that road. Please and thank you!
