Single Solution Solutions

Beware the never-ending solution-solving hacks!

Single Solution Solutions

By TLS

When was the last time you saw something telling you “Do this one thing every day and…” then suddenly you’ll be tall or skinny, or fit, or beautiful, or healthy, or invisible and bulletproof? Or, more likely, how many times have you already heard it today? More than a few would be my guess.

Unfortunately, people seem to eat these up like candy on a diabetic cruise convention. Everyone wants easy fixes and simple solutions. Also unfortunately, life usually isn’t quite so accommodating.

We are complex, nuanced, sophisticated, marvelous machines (often with more than a little mental instability mixed in). Simple usually doesn’t fit, especially if one is already dealing with more than their share of life problems. Improvement takes time, and hold your breath… perseverance.

Most of our problems stem from a lifetime of poor, or at least less than ideal choices. We didn’t get here overnight and we’re likely not going to get out of it overnight.

These one-step solutions being dangled are trying to take advantage of our laziness by offering an easy fix for a difficult problem. Or as likely, offering a solution to a problem that doesn’t exist. Equally unsettling is these snake oil remedies often come from fairly credible sources, which then confuses people even more.

So beware the one solution solutions inundating our limited and all too often overburdened attention span. See these one-fix wonders for what they really are, a distraction. Real improvement requires solid, positive changes one baby step at a time. And if that doesn’t work, try my new one-step, clinically proven, guaranteed to work, secret to better….

If you’re tired of chasing “one-step wonders,” start building real progress today. Forget hacks. Forget shortcuts. Take the first real step, and then the next one. Subscribe for more essays that cut through the noise and focus on what actually works.
