All Or Nothing, Huh?
Come on people, we can do better than this.

I saw a social media post the other day that said “…just remember, whatever a Democrat says is the exact opposite of the truth.”
Seriously? Insert here: deep exasperated sigh while pinching bridge of nose.
My point isn’t to support Democrats, or Republicans. But Jesus, how about just a little common sense. Is that too much to ask for anymore? Condemning CNN as evil liars while citing Fox News is pretty much the definition of hypocrisy, aaaaaand vice versa of course.
Social media, news, X, Truth Social, Facebook, whatever the poison source is, is filled to overflowing with these all or nothing statements and straw man arguments.
If you believe your party is the true and virtuous one and the other party is evil; I imagine this will come as a big surprise, but you are the problem.
Extremists seem not to have figured this out yet. When a party is in power, at that moment they claim they can do no wrong. When that party is not in power, they will condemn and blame everything on the other party and state any action taken was illegal. Never mind everything they are complaining about is exactly what they were doing on the last cycle. Fast forward a few years when party control has changed, and the exact same arguments will be made by the opposite party all over again. Anyone notice a problem here?
In case there are some who haven’t figured this out yet, both parties are colossal hypocrites. And these parties use this contention to piss off voters and to get an emotional reaction to support whatever particular cause or bill or legislation they're currently pursuing. Stop blaming the other party and look in the mirror, it is very likely you're as much to blame as the evil, sub-human, monster counterpart you’re condemning.
We would all be far better off if more people supported the common good, I don’t know, something like supporting the continuation of a free democratic America. Unfortunately that doesn’t seem to be a very popular concept these days. Hopefully it’s a trend we can live through.
