Agony on the freeway!
Ohhh the woes!
Driving on a west coast freeway. A multi-lane highway designed and built in the early/mid-twntieth century intended only for a paultry fraction of the traffic pummeling the road surface today.
One of the original intentions was to ensure the fast and efficient movement of traffic, facilitating an increase in commerce and security, among other things.
Today, a trip on the freeway reminds me of that scene from one of The Back to the Future movies. You know, that one where they pop back in flying and get cut off by a flying taxi and mass pandemonium all around?
Sometimes I think I would rather slam my hand in a door than drive on that road with other drivers. That’s when I dream of self-driving vehicles becoming the norm. I also think, no matter how bad any self-driving system may be, it must still be a hundred or maybe even a thousand times better than eighty percent of the people I see around me while driving.
I can’t wait!
