A Call To Action! Democracy Not Destruction!

Ladies and gentlemen, I have written a few articles about the current climate of U.S. politics, they have hit shockingly close to where we are today. If we do not get our collective act together, we soon may have some serious regrets. Ones from which we cannot recover. As I wrote last year in Don’t Blame The Democrats, this country and the people in it are ready to tear this land apart in political extremism, from the right and the left.

However, I still believe the vast majority of Americans are near the middle. Polls seem to show this, but most are silent. As a result the only thing anyone hears are the outraged screams of the polarized extreme left and right. These literally are the outliers, not the norm.

For your life and your country, push for cooperation not combativeness. Be considerate not abusive. Be humble not arrogant. Encourage others, and yourself, to consider a broader view or a different perspective. Be open minded. Resist the current wave of ignorance.

My fellow Americans, if you want to keep your way of life, your house, your family, your nation, your rights, push to the middle. Extremism will only end in destruction, hate, violence, bigotry, racism, and persecution; or worse. For your children fight back against this growing wave, encourage others towards cooperation.

Today, when a republican extremist is gunned down, the extreme left rejoices. When democratic politicians and their families are targeted and killed, the extreme right celebrates. This needs to stop.

Just because someone does not have your values does not mean they are your enemy. Just because someone does not support your political party does not mean they are your foe. Just because someone does not look like you does not mean they are evil.

You, behind that screen, you probably have friends and family who are extremists. You know this and you listen to them rant. You see their posts of hate over and over either from the far left or the far right. It is time to stop appeasing them. Do not silently agree with them anymore, let them know this is not acceptable. Their extremist views will not end well for them, you, or our country.

Only by coming together and working together as Americans will we be able to remain strong. The wolves are already circling in the shadows, some are not even in the shadows anymore. Every day that we fight amongst ourselves over issues that extremist leaders use to whip their base into a fervor, we take one step closer to the inevitable collapse. Come together my countrymen. We will not always agree, we will not always see eye to eye, but we must always remember we are all Americans. We are responsible for our destiny and our path through history. But only if we unite.

If we can unite again, our nation may survive well into the glorious future, strong and resilient. However, if we continue to view our fellow Americans as mortal enemies, we most surely will soon fall. You on the other side of that screen; do not let that happen. This is the fight of our lives, not against each other, but for the future of America itself!
